Fitness is about living FREE and Powerful over our own lives

Every day that a person decides to stimulate mind and body and eat good is another day that person makes a decision that leads to more personal freedom and power over his or her own life.

Every day that a person decides to let mind and body rot and eat badly is an error in judgment and another decision that a person makes that slowly chips away at their own freedom and power over their own lives. There are no exceptions to this. You're either becoming more viable and less vulnerable or more vulnerable and less viable every day.  Which side of that fence are you on today and everyday?

Our creator gave us all the gift of personal autonomy so we may become better versions of ourselves, or rot. We are the only species on the planet with the gift of personal autonomy and philosophy.  Our personal philosophy is what we know, how we hold it, and how it affects what we do. The way your life is turning out, good or bad, is driven by your results. You're results are driven by your actions and attitude. Behind your actions and attitude is your personal philosophy. Your philosophy, what you know how you hold it and how it affects what you do, is behind the attitude and the actions which is behind the results which creates your life. If your life is turning out badly it's because your philosophies are working against you and you need to adapt some new philosophies that can change everything. If your life is shaping up nicely it's because your personal philosophies are working for you so teach others!

The ultimate most affective and efficient way to change your life is to quit blaming everything and everyone else and blame your personal philosophies because your personal philosophies are the ONLY thing keeping you back from achieving more.  Then Adapt some new personal philosophies that can change everything! For every person who skips over this step for whatever reason is another person still stuck in the same rut, or a worse rut, waiting for outside variables to change before they are willing to change.  The most affective and efficient way to stay stuck in a rut is to wait for outside variables to change before YOU change.

Our creator gives is the miraculous wonderful gift of a challenge every day because our creator wants to afford us the opportunity to get everything we want. Unfortunately most people see a challenge as a dead end rather than as a gift of opportunity. Our creator wants us to have various riches in our lives.  Those riches we define for ourselves. Our challenges, our struggles, and our difficulties are gifts. Let your personal philosophy reflect that and see how different your life could be one year from now.

Personal philosophy --> creates attitudes and actions --> creates results --> creates our life

If your personal philosophy is, "Challenges are hard I'll either quit or wait till outside variables improve first" then that philosophy is going to affect what you do in terms of quashing any opportunity to become a better version of yourself and obtain the riches you want in your life. If your personal philosophy is, "The purpose of a challenge is to make me better so I can get the things that I want" then that's the thing that will create the right attitudes and actions which will create the right results to shape the life you want and get you the riches you deserve. You know you are going to get the things you want because you know in your heart that a challenge is an opportunity to gain the wisdom to be able to go and get the things you want. If you have the right philosophy then you know that to retreat from those challenges is to look the other way from opportunity and have no more wisdom to overcome future similar challenges that are inevitably coming.  Wouldn't it serve you and your family better to gain the wisdom to overcome those challenges so you know what to do as they come up rather than letting those problems stack up?

I believe our creator wants us to be deserving of our good fortunes. I believe we become deserving of riches as we gain the wisdom to overcome the challenges that unlock the pathway to the riches we seek. Big Lotto winners and heirs to million dollar inheritances who never overcame their own personal challenges are among the most unhappiest people in the world. Having a multi million dollar bank account and no wisdom to over come challenges is NOT living in richness. When an individual whos gained no such wisdom inherits a fortune of money for nothing their life is actually made worse and they are even more unhappy. For this reason I believe our creator wants us to not only be free and obtain our own riches but our creator also wants us to be deserving of keeping our freedom and gaining our various riches. Our creator loves us and knows that if we inherited a million dollar bank account without the wisdom to solve our problems then our lives would be destroyed. Our creator wants us to be happy. Our creator loves and respects us enough to leave those choices that leads to happiness or sadness, riches or rags, freedom or rotting, entirely up to us with our gifts of personal autonomy and philosophy.  It's up to us, as individuals, to accept those gifts with an understanding of it's purposes.  It's either that or rot, loose our birth right freedoms, miss out on riches that are rightfully ours if we are willing to practice hard work and discipline to claim them!

This article beautifully relates to another article I wrote, "Continuously Challenge Your Mind and Body and Live FREE"

Continously challenge your mind and body and live FREE

When I DISCIPLINE/HONOR myself to eat properly, live morally, exercise regularly, grow mentally &; spiritually and not put any drugs or alcohol in my body; I have given myself the freedom to be at MY BEST, perform at my best AND reap all the rewards that go along with it.” - Zig Ziglar

My dad every day for years chose to smoke, eat poorly, and live sedentary. He positioned his daily actions for time to expose his daily error in judgment. He's lost almost all of his freedom now largely because he's on oxygen 24/7 resulting from his daily error in judgment.

If you said anything to him about his lifestyle choices he was always quick to say, "I'll do what I want". But thats not really true. He wants to play golf but he no longer can. He wants to go bowling but he no longer can. Forget extra curricular activities for a moment he just really wants to be able to walk more then 20 feet without having to stop and catch is breath or pull on his oxygen tube. He would also like to deal with lifes daily little stresses more affectively without feeling mentally and physically fatigued. He'd like the freedom to be able to handle emergency situations which he no longer can. He'd like to be able to take a trip somewhere without having to worry about the nearest oxygen facility if his travel unit quits working otherwise he will go through the extreme discomfiture of suffocating. He'd like to be able to hang onto the extra $400 per month he now has to spend on medications and other things he needs just to live, and that's after insurance coverage!! My dad would like to not have to wonder if the next cold he gets will be severe enough to kill him. Since he's been drinking Shakeology, thank god for that, hes not been sick but hes never coming off of oxygen either.

My mom is type 2 diabetic and morbidly obese but loosing weight now for the first time in her life thanks go Shakeology. After years of neglect time is exposing her daily errors in judgment. She has no cartilage left in one of her knees but she is too fat for knee replacement surgery so she's in pain every day instead. Her insulin receptor cells have been so desensitized to insulin that she is nearly dependent on administering shots of insulin or she could die. But, Shakeology has her blood pressure AND blood sugar levels more stable now than they have been in the past twenty years. Though my mom is capable of more physical activity than my dad, she is very easily exhausted. She cannot step off of a shallow street curb unless there is someone or something to hold onto. If she walks up one flight of easy stairs in a house she needs to stop half way to rest while she breaks a sweat and sighs in discomfiture. My mom is not capable of handling emergencies if one arises.

Both of my parents have made decisions every day over the course of years that's severely limited their freedom to do the things they want.  The devil knows that the key to an individual loosing their freedoms is to set a stage for them to chip away at their freedoms slowly enough that they won't pause for a moment, reflect, and make some changes. We've empowered the devil more than ever before with a record 80% death rate as a result of chronic illness due to life style choices.  For the first time in history this death rate has extended into our children and continues to grow; creating a growing consumer demand for casket makers in our nation to make more of the short and wide caskets.

Individuals commonly begin their various heart medications and the chipping away at their freedoms in their early forties. An increasing number are beginning chipping away in their thirties and children now for the first time in our history at the inexcusable mis guidance of their parents/guardians are being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (the preventable type)and dying as we continue to let our minds and bodies rot. This is just largely seen as a way of life now and accepted as such without exercising the degree of control that has been given to us by our creator; thereby dishonoring our creator along with ourselves and the freedoms that have been given to us.

"Yeah but I wanna live I wanna enjoy myself". No one can tell me that when a person anguishes derived from life style choices that they are living a good life. Literally ROTTING in both mind and body is not enjoyment or living a good FREE life. Is that the kind of "living" some people bring to the table? It also underscores a crippling lack of knowledge in healthy eating. Healthy food, not diet food because diet food is junk and makes a person go insane, is much better in taste and satiety than junk food any day of the week.

We are proud Americans to be living legally free. But what about just... living free? Does it matter if you're legally free to do the things you want if you don't have the health, the vitality, and the breath to do those things anyway?

Most Americans make choices that lead to voiding their own freedoms which is really a form of self tyranny. The number of amputations, for example, as a result of life style choices breaks new records every year. How much less freedom does a person have who looses a limb or more? Is that not self imposed tyranny or what?? You can not live a care free 'do what I want' life and live free at the same time.  A care free 'do what I want' life is really a form of self tyranny.  I realize logically it presents a bit of a conundrum. There needs to be balance just like with anything else. We don't need an outside source imposing tyranny on ourselves because most Americans make daily choices that lead to self tyranny anyway. On the opposite end of the spectrum there are millions, perhaps billions, of people in the world under tyrannical governmental control who would do anything to live free legally so they could live a good life in mind and body. We don't have anything outside of ourselves imposing tyranny so then why are most of us not living a free life????????????? That's a 400 Billion dollar annual question in terms of the cost of obesity on our economy which stands to quadruple in the next ten years if we don't experience a fundamental philosophical change in our country.

Everyone is familiar with the old adage, "freedom isn't free". We should all be grateful for the troops who sacrifice their lives so we can live legally free. "Freedom isn't free" is a philosophy that you should apply to your own personal life to. Be willing, even eager, to pay the price to live free. To have one at the all out expense of another is not balance and is not free.  I'm talking about living free of debilitating problems that keep you from doing the things you want to do and feeling the way you want to feel. If you stop challenging your mind and body you will loose your freedom to varying debilitating problems both neurological and physical. It's inevitable. So then why must so many let their mind and body rot in the name of living "free"? It reminds me of another old adage, "Burning down the barn to kill the rats".  It doesn't make sense!

Here is another thing to consider... Everything we do affects other people to varying degrees. If you smoke or drink yourself to death loved ones will experience broken hearts at no fault of their own. Some people believe they should have the right to drink and drive. Every year there are thousands of hearts broken because mom, dad, a friend, a loved one was the victim of a DUI offense. British Petroleum ignored safety concerns we now know about and now thousands of lives, millions of wildlife, have been negatively impacted at no fault of their own. BP made a careless error in judgment that had a negative domino affect. But BP is easy to blame because they are BIG oil. Anything BIG is an easy target when they mess up.

No single person or entity is perfect. All of us can point fingers very easily but it takes a bigger person to point in the mirror. Every single one of us should point in the mirror when we mess up or contribute to a mess up. If you mess up then admit it to yourself. Without harnessing the power of reflection in an honest way, sometimes painfully honest, then you don't give yourself the opportunity to set yourself FREE to correct the errors of the past so you can become a better version of yourself for tomorrow. This process should never stop til your body is cold. If it stops then you begin to Rot. Living free doesn't just come from challenging your mind and body but it also comes from being accountable and owning your own crap.

Pay the price and live FREE!

ACTION VS SELF-DELUSION by Jim Rohn

Knowledge fueled by emotion equals action. Action is the ingredient that ensures results. Only action can cause reaction. Further, only positive action can cause positive reaction.

Action. The whole world loves to watch those who make things happen, and it rewards them for causing waves of productive enterprise.

I stress this because today I see many people who are really sold on affirmations. And yet there is a famous saying that "Faith without action serves no useful purpose." How true!

I have nothing against affirmations as a tool to create action. Repeated to reinforce a disciplined plan, affirmations can help create wonderful results.

But there is also a very thin line between faith and folly. You see - affirmations without action can be the beginnings of self-delusion. And for your well-being there is little worse than self-delusion.

The man who dreams of wealth and yet walks daily toward certain financial disaster and the woman who wishes for happiness and yet thinks thoughts and commits acts that lead her toward certain despair are both victims of the false hope which affirmations without action can manufacture. Why? Because words soothe and, like a narcotic, they lull us into a state of complacency. Remember this: TO MAKE PROGRESS YOU MUST ACTUALLY GET STARTED!

The key is to take a step today. Whatever the project, start TODAY. Start clearing out a drawer of your newly organized desk ... today. Start setting your first goal... today. Start listening to motivational cassettes... today. Start a sensible weight-reduction plan ... today. Start calling on one tough customer a day ... today. Start putting money in your new "investment for fortune" account ... today. Write a long-overdue letter ... today. ANYONE CAN! Even an uninspired person can start reading inspiring books.

Get some momentum going on your new commitment for the good life. See how many activities you can pile on your new commitment to the better life. Go all out! Break away from the downward pull of gravity. Start your thrusters going. Prove to yourself that the waiting is over and the hoping is past -- that faith and action have now taken charge.

It's a new day, a new beginning for your new life. With discipline you will be amazed at how much progress you'll be able to make. What have you got to lose except the guilt and fear of the past?

Now, I offer you this challenge: See how many things you can start and continue in this -- the first day of your new beginning.

To Your Success,
Jim Rohn

My personal observation on Majority Vs. Minority people - opposites in contrast

Here is an interesting simple observation I made of opposites in contrast regarding two varying contrasting groups of people. Well call these two contrasting groups of people group “Majority” and group “Minority”.

People in group “Majority” are common / average people in terms of accomplishment NOT value. They are willing to sacrifice having the means of doing and having the things they really want so that they may continue exercising the same habits that aren’t serving them or their family; consequently they lack money, time, health and vitality, or a combination of such. They are willing to trade the things they really want for the things they’ve already got.

People in group Minority are paying the price of discipline and hard work so that they may have the time, money, health and vitality, or a combination of such to be able to have and do all the things they really want. They are willing to trade the things they’ve already got for the things they really want. They create new habits that serve them and their family and end habits that don’t. They realize the pain of regret is a higher price to pay than the pains of discipline and this philosophy affects what they do.

People in group Majority are sadly asking themselves, “Why should I be healthy, wealthy, happy, joyous, confident, beautiful and strong” all the while they SHOULD be asking themselves, “Why NOT ME?”

People in group Minority have already said, “Why NOT ME?” and consequently are either already accomplishing OR they are just getting started and are in the process of claiming the various riches that already rightfully belong to them.

By Joe Wilkes
If you spend any time perusing the fashion mags and tabloid rags in the supermarket checkout line, you'll see a wide array of articles claiming to have discovered the latest "miracle food" that will burn off the pounds while you sit on your butt and eat. Well, sadly, the news isn't quite that good. Without regular exercise, a decent night's sleep, and a thought-out meal plan, your metabolic rate is going to be dragging. However, there are some things you can eat that will move the needle favorably into the fat-burning zone. And most of these foods are delicious and nutritious anyway, so why not? Here are eight of the best ones.

1. Fish. Most of us have read about the benefits of fish oil, which is full of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Found in many common oily fish like mackerel, trout, sardines, herring, tuna, and salmon, it can also be taken in capsules (at least 300 milligrams/day) by those who are averse to seafood. Fish consumption has been found to boost your calorie burn by as much as 400 calories a day. Fish is also full of great, low-fat, muscle-building protein (which requires your body to burn more calories to digest).

2. ChardDark green leafy vegetables. These include arugula, chard, chicory, collard greens, dandelion greens, kale, mustard greens, and spinach. They are full of vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, and lots of fiber. While the vitamins are great antioxidants and very healthy for you, the fiber is where the rubber really meets the road as far as metabolism goes. Your body expends a lot more calories digesting fiber and protein than it does simply digesting carbohydrates. This is called the thermic effect—the amount of calories required to digest the food can sometimes be almost as much as the number of calories in the food itself. Dark leafies also contain many B vitamins, which are necessary to produce the enzymes for metabolism. Most other vegetables are high in fiber and low in calories and can boost your burn, but the cream of the crop, nutritionally speaking, are the dark green leafy vegetables. So listen to Popeye, and eat your spinach!

3. Tomatoes. Tomatoes have gotten a lot of good press lately, as they contain high levels of the antioxidant lycopene, which has been proven to have several anti-carcinogenic properties. And like the dark green leafy vegetables, tomatoes are also a good source of fiber. But tomatoes can also work overtime to flush fat, as they also contain citric, malic, and oxalic acids, which support your body's kidney functions, which helps your body eliminate more waste and fat from your system.

4. Blueberries and other whole fruits. Whole fruits contain lots of fiber, and many contain so much, they can be said to have "negative calories," meaning your body burns more calories digesting the food than it stores. One cup of blueberries only has about 80 calories, but 4 grams of fiber. Your body will expend much of those 80 calories digesting the 4 grams of fiber. Blueberries also contain lots of antioxidants, and are believed to lower cholesterol and regulate blood pressure. And they taste great! Try adding them to a high-fiber unsweetened cereal or oatmeal in the morning to get your metabolism up and running at the start of your day.

5. Whole grains. Well, if you've read this far, you've probably gotten that fiber is key to keeping the metabolic fires burning. Whole grains are one of the best sources of dietary fiber. This is where careful label reading comes in. Lots of items purporting to contain whole grains may only contain enough to make the claim truthful, and may in fact be full of insulin-spiking carbohydrates or sugars, which will take your metabolism in the wrong direction. Check the ingredient list of your breads and cereals carefully and make sure the preponderance of the ingredients is whole grain.

6. Anise StarsChilies, curries, and other spices. Ever eaten a particularly spicy meal and felt your heart race a bit faster and your forehead start to perspire? The capsaicin found in many hot peppers and other spices can fire up your metabolism while it fires up your mouth. In fact, some studies have shown a 50 percent increase in metabolism for 3 hours after eating capsaicin. So it helps to keep a bottle of hot sauce on hand at mealtimes. You can use spices to add flavor to recipes instead of salty or fatty ingredients, which will also help kick your metabolism into a higher gear.

7. Green tea. Researchers have found that green tea consumption can increase calorie burning by up to four percent. It is believed to accomplish this by increasing metabolic rates as well as fat oxidation. Studies have also shown that green tea can reduce sugar cravings and can inhibit enzymes that slow digestion, thus raising metabolic rates. Its thermogenetic properties were convincing enough that Beachbody® includes it in its ActiVit® Metabolism Formula Multivitamins. Besides the metabolic properties, green tea is loaded with antioxidants and polyphenols, making it one of the most healthful beverage choices around.

8. Ice water. Almost every nutritionist will recommend drinking eight 8-ounce glasses of water every day, but did you know that if you drink ice water versus room-temperature water, your body will burn an extra 9 calories per glass? Drinking room-temperature water can burn about 16 calories per glass—that's 25 calories per glass for ice water. So, eight glasses of cool water a day can be responsible for burning 200 calories! Plus, water is necessary for all of your bodily processes, including the ones that control your metabolism. If you're underhydrated, your body will underperform. Water also flushes out fat deposits and toxins, which can hamper your energy.

And remember, a good night's sleep and smaller, evenly spaced meals can be your best metabolic friends. And the best thing to really get your metabolism going is exercise. You can burn almost 700 calories in one 45-minute Turbo Jam® workout alone. Also, stress has been found to produce cortisol, a metabolism-inhibiting steroid, so try and relax—have a blueberry. Or a fish!

Courteous and Discourteous People - A Mix that will Always Be

People are fickle.  To stay on point some people are courteous and others are discourteous.  Unfortunately, like growing a beautiful garden, you have to pull out the nasty weeds to help the beautiful flowers grow and flourish other wise the nasty weeds will take over and kill off the beautiful flowers.  Discourteous unapologetic people are like the nasty weeds in your garden who need to be pulled out and removed from your associations so the flowers can bloom and flourish.  Growing a beautiful garden that makes you feel really good inside is worth going through all the nasty weeds.  Building a successful business of people helping people bloom and flourish in their own ways is worth weeding through the nasty discourteous unapologetic people.  And that is not a team Beachbody thing or a business building thing it's a reflection of life itself.  I bet all of you reading this can relate to me in both your professional and personal lives.  Maybe some of you reading this are unapologetically discourteous toward other human beings.

The coolest thing about being an Independent team Beachbody coach is people.  The worst thing about being an Independent Beachbody coach is people. The products are consistently first class.   Likewise the best thing about life is people.  The worst thing about life is people.  Material things don't matter to us without having people.

Much like the continuous mix of difficulty and opportunity and nasty weeds and flowers there is always going to be a mix of courteous and discourteous people in our lives.  It's just part of the deal that we have no control over.  We are in control of how we respond.  Since there is nothing we can do about the mix of difficulty and opportunity and courteous and discourteous people there is no need to worry.  Instead, focus on your self, on your response.

I meet my share of courteous and discourteous people.  One day earlier this month I had three commitments for an appointment that other people made with me.  They approached me first because they were interested in Team Beachbody.  All three let the appointment lapse without so much as a phone call or a text message to let me know so that I could re arrange my planner.  Sometimes emergencies happen and that's different.  I don't jump to conclusions without knowing and neither should you.  When a BS excuse is given or none at all there is no control I have over that.  Because I understand there is nothing I can do about that it doesn't bother me in and of itself.  The truly bothersome part for me personally is that there are other people who are courteous who want to get started who may even need to get started because of their tough situation.   Some of them perhaps could have fit into those time slots that were discourteously lapsed without any warning.  It's rude and selfish to think that I may not have something else I could be doing to help other people improve their lives.  It's selfish and self centered for someone to get in the way of someone else who wants to improve their health and get out of poverty.  Much like the nasty weeds getting in the way of the beautiful flowers that want to bloom, discourteous people make decisions that could potentially get in the way of other people who are desperately looking for a way to improve their lives.

The only reason I probably come across more discourteous people than most is because I talk to more people than most people so proportionately its' probably about the same.  But it means I'm also coming across more courteous people than most others come across.  I meet a lot of discourteous  but people my team grew by 40 passionate individuals just in one month last month.   A year ago I was lucky if my team grew by four people in a month.  A year from now I know my teams rate of growth will have increased from 40 a month to 40 inside of a single week!  And it's going to keep going.  Thomas Watson, founder of IBM, said if you want to be successful then double your rate of failure. The same is true for your dealings with courteous and discourteous people.  If you're starting a viable business and want to find courteous passionate people to grow it with then double your rate of dealings with discourteous people.  Thats the only way to find those who are courteous, nurturing, and passionate.  There is no 'if' it will happen but only 'when' it will happen.  Each discourteous person you deal with professionally and personally brings you closer to the next courteous person you deal with who makes you feel good.  That's reason enough to be excited about every nasty unapologetic discourteous person you deal with!  The discourteous simply just need to be 'weeded out' and the real friendships you forge in the midst of your dealings will have a more profound affect on you than the nasty discourteous people ever could.

If you Join me in Team Passion Beachbody coaches I'm always going to be honest with you even if it's difficult.  You are going to meet courteous and discourteous people.  But you meet that mix anyway because it's a reflection of life.  Everything in Team Beachbody is a reflection of life.  We are just practicing old fundamentals because they've been around for thousands of years and work amazingly well.  That's why I'm doing so amazingly well.  It's why my teams growth is blowing up.  It's why Team Beachbody as a whole is doing so amazingly well.  We are largely a reflection of very old fundamentals in life.

My goal with this article is to help all of you relate to each other more in an area that is very frustrating and sometimes disheartening.  I hope that my article helps you to put your own thoughts together with greater clarity on how you feel about being treated with discourtesy from someone who you may have shown courtesy towards.  We are human beings.  It can hurt to extend courtesy to someone only be be responded to with discourtesy so why not liberate ourselves to recognize how it makes us feel and then focus on the only variable in this deal that we have control over; our own responses!   The best response to someone unapologetically discourteous is to not waste another breath on them.  The unapologetic discourteous person is a nasty weed to be pulled from your garden so the flowers can bloom.  Others may just need a quick talk and they will change once they know how you feel.  Trying to get a nasty weed to turn into a beautiful flower is not acting productively; it's not going to happen.  You cannot turn a nasty weed into a beautiful flower.  Nasty weeds can only be removed from the garden.  If you let the nasty weeds flourish then they will kill the beautiful flowers.  Would you prefer a garden of nasty weeds or a garden of beautiful flowers?  Would you rather associate more with courteous people or with discourteous people?  Would you rather grow a business of people helping people or a business of people blowing people off?  Which consequently can be the weeds that will kill the growth of your business because the flowers who want to bloom are not being given a chance to flourish.  Don't waste another breath on the unapologetic discourteous person.  Just know that you are going to run into them and when you do you know exactly what to do with them.  Nothing!

Hit & Run - by Molly Nechvatal

Most of the time, when we think about fitness or working out, we are focusing on looking good -- a flatter tummy, smaller saddle bags, tighter muscles. All of this can make us feel more confident and give us more energy, which is a fantastic day-to-day pay off. Every morning when we get up we can look in the mirror and see how our commitment to a healthy lifestyle is paying off. But how often do we think about the invisible results? Do we forget about (or even realize) what is happening under the skin -- in our blood, our digestive system, our lungs, our brains, our cellular structure.

I recently had TWO experiences that reminded me of those results, which I admittedly don't place as a priority that often.

FIRST of all, just the other week i was finishing up a 10 mile run on a beautiful warm rainy morning. I felt good, but was anxious to get home. Only 1/4 mile from my home I crossed the street, and a taxi came driving quickly up to the stop sign, but blew right through it. I had begun to swerve a little, thinking he was just stopping too far out, but when the car was at my legs I instinctively placed one hand on the hood and jumped up onto the hood of the car. As the driver finally slammed to a stop I did fly off the car and onto the ground, butt first. I was very scared, my butt cheek burned, but all in all, I had escaped impact with the vehicle itself. Why? Because I jumped -- fast and high! Why? Because I had been practicing that over and over with Shaun T.'s INSANITY workouts, 3 months of high knees, power jumps, burpees, and pylometrics. I did those workouts to look good and run fast. But what they really did, was save my life. Heck, I even ran home afterwards (albeit in a bit of shock).

I am in my 40's -- an age when I notice many people start giving in to age, gravity, lethargy, hormones, sentimentality. We begin to talk about cholesterol tests, high blood pressure, diabetes, medications, and treatments, as if they are just part of "growing up". Some of us start to fight back, which gives us a whole new outlook on life. Some don't. I have frequently replayed that experience in my head, the car, going 30 mph, at my knees, and have seen myself as an inactive person, bracing myself against the impact of the car as it smashes against my legs, drags me to the ground, and rolls across me. It was the choice to LIVE an active life for many years prior to this that I think helped me to avoid an otherwise horrific end.

SECOND experience. My 85 year old mother just had hip replacement surgery. She was repeatedly asked for her medical history, and time after time, people were amazed that she was typically only on 1 medication (thyroid). She has no history of diabetes, cancer, heart disease, asthma, or dementia. She is recovering very well from surgery ("like a 65 yr old" her doctor told her!) I am so happy for her to regain her active lifestyle that she has been missing these last few years. But I also saw many other patients, some much younger, who were obese, feeble, and ill, who were confined by tubes in their throats and in their colons, and who had a multitude of medications to ease symptoms, counteract side-effects, lessen pain, and lower all sorts of unhealthy numbers in their charts. I feel bad for them. I also feel bad that that scares me. I know that disease is fickle and that treatments vary in effectiveness from person to person. But I also believe that what we CAN control should not be disregarded. The positive effects of a healthy life in our youth, contribute to a much greater likelihood of a healthy life as we age. We are not DESTINED to grow weak and diseased and medicated and incapacitated as we age. We can CHOOSE how much control we decide to give up. I choose to control as much as I can for as long as I can. I lose more than a flat tummy when I stop exercising, when I eat more processed foods, when I pay less attention to emotional stress. Joyce B. 50 Years Old writes about her personal Experience with Shakeology and how it's changed her life

Joyce B writes...

"Since beginning Shakeology in April 2009, I have lost 53 pounds. In October 2009, I was taken off my high blood pressure medication after 2 years! My doctor has told me to keep doing whatever it is I'm doing. People tell me I look thin, awesome, beautiful, and do not look my age. I feel fantastic and much younger. I personally think I look better than I ever have in my life! I can look in the mirror and be proud of my appearance now. My skin and hair are healthy looking. I have more energy, and if I happen to miss taking Shakeology, I feel a difference in my energy level, as it's not as strong.

I believe Shakeology has made a positive healing impact on my digestive system and endocrine system. It has fueled my body with the nutrients it needs so I don't get cravings for wrong junk foods anymore. I can drive by fast-food restaurants and even other restaurants and have no desire for them anymore. That has been awesome! Before, it was like those places would "call me" as I tried to drive past them. I never get headaches anymore, do not crave sugar, and I'm not snacking at night anymore, either. Another major bonus is that I do not have hot flashes anymore—while in peri-menopause!"

If you're ready to try Shakeology pick up the Coach discounts. Between the coach discounts and free shipping you will save $300 annually.  Between that and the money saved in groceries it's like getting shakeology for free times two. I save about $250 in groceries a month and I'm only paying $90 for shakeology. This is EASY because unless someone is buying your food for you then you WILL come out ahead and you will look and FEEL better because of Shakeology.

Integrity / Character and living Free

Integrity/Character: “When I DISCIPLINE myself to eat properly, live morally, exercise regularly, grow mentally; spiritually and not put any drugs or alcohol in my body; I have given myself the freedom to be at MY BEST, perform at my best AND reap all the rewards that go along with it.” ~What about you?

I like to frame it as Honoring myself versus discipline. If I view it as discpline - it feels negative. If I frame it as honoring myself it feels beautiful and most importantly sustainable. "Just Sayin" ~ LOL

That is an excellent way to frame it I admire that :) Actually I like it better than the original :) Thank you for that!
